Help Finding 1 Bed Apt Downtown for June 1 (Charleston, Mount Pleasant: apartment, rent)

I am moving to Charleston for a 5 month training for work and I will be working downtown, near the Charleston Place Hotel.

I have never been to the area, so Im struggling finding a place to live, since Im not familiar with good/bad areas.

I am a business professional, right out of college, so my budget is under $800/month, and I don't mind living near college students.

What I want is a 1 bedroom apartment of a decent size that I can rent starting June 1 and going to Nov 1.

Also, I have no pets and I have good credit. Any suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

It is going to be very difficult. Will you have a vehicle? It may be less expensive to commute from West Ashley/James Island or Mount Pleasant. I searched MLS and for 800 or less found two units that looked okay. My advice is contact a REALTOR, search the papers (http://www.Charleston.net - broken link) as well as Craigs list. Good Luck!
