I have friends telling me Moultrie is better and I should jump on the chance to move her there. (I doubt I will because of transportation issues, but FYI....
Just out of curiosity, why do they think Moultrie is a better school? We have a daughter who will be going into grade 7 next year (as well as one going into pre-k 4 and a little guy starting grade 1) and we've been sticking to houses in the Cario district - but I have heard great things about Moultrie - unfortunately the houses are just too darn expensive in that area! If you do decide to enroll in Moultrie and you live in another district, are you responsible for your child's transport to and from - silly question I'm guessing??

Thanks.

I haven't been able to get anyone to be very specific.... just an overall, "oh, you should get her into Moultrie if you possibly can... it's the better of the two". When I say it would be difficult for me to get her there, I hear, "well, Cario isn't bad". So - - whatever all that means, lol. And yes, you do need to provide your own transportation.
*Note: they're redistricting, so there may be some areas that currently show Cario that will be switching. I know that Longpoint is one of those. I have friends there that are moving to Moultrie this coming year by choice, because it will be in their district the following year.... Good luck!

Is there such thing as a "subdivision map" that lists or shows which subdivision goes to which middle school? I've looked on the Charleston County School District website as well as specific school websites but I can't seem to find the information. And if some areas are rezoning then this would be good information to have.

Thanks.

I have never been able to find that either. The rumor all subdivisions west on 41 are going to be rezoned from Cario to Laing.

Oh great...from Cario to Laing - we never even considered that they may do this? This really changes our housing choices.

Remember -- for the most part -- any of those three middle schools will be fine. If you find a community you love -- trust your judgement. You'll be able to tell by visiting the school whether or not it is appropriate. I would bet that all three are good enough. They all feed into Wando High School and it is a fine high school.
