Below is an excerpt from an article on http://www.globalwarminghoax.com/com...mment.news.109

This is an increase of 45% for ice concentration since 1980. This continues a long trend that has been noted here for several months..

Interior ice is also increasing but not due to warming as the models have predicted. According to NOAA GISS data winter temperatures in the antarctic have actually fallen by 1°F since 1957, with the coldest year being 2004. All the while global CO2 levels have gone up and the main stream media has been reporting near catastrophic warming conditions. They regularly show Antarctic sea ice shelves breaking apart, which is an entirely normal process (though they never tell you that part). The main stream media and certain segments of the scientific community truly must have no shame.

If you have doubts about the increase in ice you can run the numbers yourself at the National Snow and Ice Data Center's website (part of the University of Colorado and funded by the National Science Foundation).

And if you want to read something really amusing take a gander at Michael Asher Blog about climate modelers trying to explain antarctic warming.... agh .. cooling....agh... warming it's delightful.

I have a relative who works in the scientific community (not junk science or Scientology community) and who is assisting with a project that is imaging and studying the thickness of ice sheets in Greenland. This study will elucidate many details concerning warming trends around the globe.

Let's see some pure science...
"Antarctica's glaciers are melting more rapidly than previously known because of climate change, according to a new U.S. Geological Survey report prepared in close collaboration with the British Antarctic Survey. The USGS study documents for the first time that one ice shelf has completely disappeared and another has lost a chunk three times the size of Rhode Island... The rapid retreat of glaciers there demonstrates once again the profound effects our planet is already experiencing - more rapidly than previously known - as a consequence of climate change."
- US Geological Survey 4/3/2009

Of course, I'm sure the USGS and British Antarctic Survey does not have the same extensive scientific background as does Rush Limbaugh and globalwarminghoax.com. I thought they even got Dubya to finally come around and accept the science. If they were able to beat it into his dumb skull, it oughta be easy for anyone of average intelligence.

You know, all that's being said is that we need to clean up our planet. If they're right, we still have a small window remaining to preserve some reasonable quality of life for our descendants. If they're off base, we end up leaving behind a better world than we were born into. Seems like a no-brainer to me, but then again, I'm just a bleedin' heart liberal, what do I know?

Science, not Politics.

Confusing the two is a critical error.

Oh, I'm not confused, I assure you. Just lumping 2 public figures who have tried and suceeded to brainwash a large percent of our non-thinking society. (ok, bring it on!)

Undeniable Global Warming

]"By Naomi Oreskes
Sunday, December 26, 2004; Page B07
Many people have the impression that there is significant scientific disagreement about global climate change. It's time to lay that misapprehension to rest. There is a scientific consensus on the fact that Earth's climate is heating up and human activities are part of the reason. We need to stop repeating nonsense about the uncertainty of global warming and start talking seriously about the right approach to address it."

It's science - not Kool-Aide. No one is asking anyone to drink anything, just look objectively at the science (Rush Limbaugh, W, Fox News, and similar "sources" don't count).

Not confused, but perhaps brainwashed in the other direction?

It's a lot easier to lump than it is to have meaningful discourse.

If it turns out that science doesn't support the global warming hypothesis, I am sure many will change their position; however, the current data appear to support a global warming trend.

Where are your facts to disprove that theory?
