Default Anyone know of a good bakery and possible caterer in Summerville area?

Our son will be graduating and we're planning an open house. Since we're new to the area - we don't really know of a great bakery for his graduation cake. I will probably do a lot of the cooking (I LOVE to cook & bake), but my husband thought about checking out a local caterer also, to help offset some of the work - since we'll probably have out of town guests at the house.

Also any suggestions on rental companies for tent, tables, chairs...

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure what a southern thing is - I'm a northerner (smile). My husband was inquiring about a caterer - trying to lighten the load on me. I'm open to ideas.

Thanks again!

Smoke Signals used to be in the building that Cape_fisherman is putting his new place in so I don't think you will be able to get them again....

Thanks! Yes Smoke Signals has closed - just down the road from us.

No bakeries? REALLY? I haven't really noticed - but we've always had bakeries, wherever we've lived. What about weddings - they have to get their wedding cakes somewhere? No specialty cake shops? I never thought of that - I guess we just found a great business to open!

Saphrons downtown for the bakery needs, don't know of one closer than that, other than grocery stores...
