blahnik, if you move to Mt Pleasant or West Ashley you will love it! they are both filled with young people, great day and night life, access to the beaches, shopping and restaurants at your fingertips, great apartments and homes for sale, close to the city--5 to 10 minutes. Young people who are more open minded and upscale, and great selection of churches.
Darius Rucker lives in MP, his marriage is Interracial, I go home alot and we dont have problems in MP or WEst Ashley, people are very warm and friendly. Go to West Ashley and shop at Earthfare, i see Interracial families in there all the time. I have biracial cousins that live in Charleston also. Go to MP and we have Whole Foods and shops and people dont even bat an eye at IR.
MP and Charleston have changed alot of the better, there are still problems but alot less than in most places even up north or out west.
