Default Charleston/Summerville Daycare & employers

Just wondering how daycare is in the Charleston/Summerville area? Does anyone know of employers that have on-site childcare? Any info would be appreciated. Also, i've heard that Dorchester County II schools are very good - can anyone confirm that?

Thanks!
Jennifer

Default schools

It's been a few years since I had my kids in daycare, so all I can say is that friends and neighbors don't complain about it. You know how it is, if it's bad you'll hear about it. I can speak to Dorchester 2, though, there are many fantastic areas to live along the coast, but having had 3 children, Dorchester 2 is one of the only ones I would consider. Charleston county is always on the local news in some sort of mess. There are a few schools that do well, friends in Mt. Pleasant are happy. Mt. Pleasant has become extremely expensive though and if you can afford a home there you will certainly see a return on your property should you sell. Summerville is growing and the homes, while still reasonable, are just as quickly appreciating. The website for our district is www.dorchester2.k12.sc.us Summerville is a friendly town and neighbors help one another in times of need. Close to interstate 26, we're just a short ride to Charleston if you find employment there. Sorry, I would think it'll be difficult to find employer offered daycare, that is such a great idea...hopefully it will spread to places other than big cities. Hope this helps atleast a little.

Thanks for your input! Mt Pleasant real estate has gone up so much! I remember looking around when my in-laws first moved there 5 years ago & boy have the prices changed! But I guess that's most everywhere now. Still it's not half as bad as NY where I am!
