Patriot's Point 4th of July......
We were there for the 4th, had absolutely the best seat in the house. Along the edge of the water, no one in front of us and right in front of where they shot off the fireworks. We had a blast!
I am curious though, I have searched to see what the head count was this year and I can't seem to find it, anyone have any clues?

Details -- what time did you get there? Where did you park? How long did it take you to get out of there? Did you bring your own chairs, sit on the ground......I may have more questions later?

Hi,
Let's see....
we got there about 3:00 and people were trickling in. We found our spot and put our chairs there. People brought blankets, towels and chairs to sit on. Some people brought beach umbrella's to block the sun and I know the Patriots Point store sold a ton of those as well. Also, there were people with what I call tail-gating tents. When the sun went down, all the umbrellas and tents came down.
You can't take coolers, although I carried a beach bag that I took in some chips, crackers etc.. They have food tickets and the food was good, not to cheap but good. They had beer and wine based margarita's. A huge kiddie play section that you had to pay a fee for as well.
We parked on the main road entrance, we backed the car in and getting out was a breeze. People were nice and friendly about letting people out and when it was needed making u-turns etc...it was really pretty simple.
No problems at all. And it took us about 40 minutes to get back to our Hotel. The police did a great job with traffic !
I only have 2 things that *bugged* me...I thought the tent where you go the food/beverage tickets was a bit un-organized. You had to have pink tickets for alcohol, blue for food and drink. It got a bit confusing when trying to balance out the money vs. the tickets. Unfortunately, I say this because hearing some people talk they got more tickets than what they paid the cash for. That is not good as Patriot's Point, needs the funding right now, mistakes like that make the kitty come up short at the end of the night.
The only thing that more than bugged me was they were doing a survey about the event. How did you find out about us, have you been before, would you come back etc.... When you completed the survey, they would hand you an American Flag. Printed big as day on there were the words "made in China". Wrong ! People through out the crowd were commenting on that.
All in all, it was a wonderful event, no problems and tons of fun! And we will definitely go back!
OH! From 5:30-7:30 you could go onto the Yorktown for $5. That is a great deal! DH did that.

Hi,
Yes, there were 2 bands there.
The East Coast Party band, they were good....especially if you like beach music.
He other band was called Threshhold, they are from the Rock Hill area. They were good as well. The played 80's tunes.
There was a lot of traffic but it was much smoother and easier than we thought it would be. It wouldn't keep us from going back. Like I said, the Mt. Pleasant PD did a great job I think.

That would have bothered me too! Why can't American flags be MADE IN AMERICA??
