Or is there more to do in the Mount Pleasant area? Also, we have questions regarding schools. Our daughter and son are in high school and are looking at attending Bishop England, but our daughter is also interested in Ashley Hall downtown. She is a very competitive tennis player and golfer and is curious as to which school would be a better fit for her. Our 10 year old would attend Daniel Island School, since we've heard phenomenal reviews about it.
Another question: Is it hard for teenagers to make new friends here? Also, would it be difficult for "yankees" such as my family and I to fit in down here?
Thanks so much for your time!

Welcome! Daniel Island is a very nice area. I would say that there would be more to do in Mt. Pleasant. If your daughter is interested in sports, I would suggest Bishop England. They have a very strong athletics program and have won state titles in many sports.
Regarding fitting in, I doubt it would be much harder than most places. Ashley Hall might be tougher than many though and would be a tougher transition than BE. The fact that she's involved in sports would make it easier. Many "yankees" such as yourself have moved here and fit in quite well. I think the key is to come embrace it for what it is and become a part of the community.
