Any comments on the social situation in I'on and Daniel Island? It looks like exactly what we have been looking for. We are very freindly neighborly relaxed low profile people looking for same. We went to another great coastal city recently and found everyone drove new Benzes and wore perfectly coiffed dews and perfectly pressed slacks (at the park playground) basically felt people some were just trying to show up others. We are midwesterners where people tend not to flaunt money. We are more sandals and t-shirts people.

Lets face it. If you can afford to live in ION you can afford private school if the public schools aren't to your liking...

Check out the homeowners association fees for both locales -- and any other fees. Even if you can afford I'on -- those fees can add up. I know one couple that are sorry they made the choice. They can afford the house but not the fees to use the pool.

But you do not have to join the pool.
I disagree..I have seen many Ion residents in T-shirts khakis and flip flops. But to each his own!

You right you don't have to join the pool. BUT.......make sure you look at all costs and think about what it does to your monthly carrying costs.
