I would pass on N.Charleston. Over the last few years, the northern end of the city re-developed which has been a nice improvement. However for me, as a native, the bad outweighs the good in N.Chas. There is no shortage of traffic or crime and I can do without both! I would live anywhere else in the region though with downtown being my preference-thats where I grew up-.
Well I live in North Charleston, specifically, Coosaw Creek Country Club. My husband and I moved here over 2 years ago from New Hampshire. We love the neighboorhood and the location. I would recommend it to anyone. There are currently 0ver 600 homes here, and about 50 or so listed for sale ranging from $299,900 up to $2.5mil. Very diverse as well.
I have lived in north charleston right off greenridge road since Jan and to me this area seems fine maybe because i am from DC and single with no kids. Its easy to get on 26, the mall and tons of places to eat are right here (to lazy to cook). The only thing i have notice is the speed trap the cops have on the street behind Kmart and the ramp to get on 26
being from DC that area should seem fine too you... a cpl yrs ago it seemed like there was a murder in that area every night for awhile, bad drug area after the sun sets... but DC has one of the highest crime/murder rates in the country so it shouldn't be a big deal to you...
funny how places where the govt has the toughest gun control also has the highest number of murders by firearms, like DC and Chicago etc etc... actual numbers, not per capita...
anyway, that place should be a walk in the park for you
Crime is really that bad downtown even in the nicest sections with burglar alarms?
