If we took a census - and we took out the cost or affordability issue out-- most people would choose to live in Old Village, Downtown Charleston or the beach. None of those areas are affordable for most people.

The story of my life! I love, love, love Mt. Pleasant, but I am not sure my hubby and I could ever afford to "purchase" there, (making 90K a year even)which make me sad (I don't want the whole "live" for my house, I like to go on vacations now and then too)!
But if you have a paycheck, you should be able to find nice affordable homes in MI. Or if someone were retiring and knew that would provide a steady income.
