West Ashley seems to be centrally located and relatively affordable. I know there are some sketchy areas towards North Charleston but is West Ashley safe? Thanks for your help.

In the newer parts of West Ashley (Hunt Club, Grand Oaks etc) everything is great. I love living in West Ashley.

I second the Hunt Club area of W. Ashley. There's a new Walmart Supercenter and Publix. Lowe's and Home Depot are close by. What more could you need

There are many terrific neighborhoods in West Ashley. Grand Oaks, MacLaura Hall, Schieveling, Sandhurst, Indigo Point, Village Green, Shadowmoss, Ashley Harbor, and quite a few more would all serve you well. What price range are you considering?

Looking to rent actually. Still will have a house on the market in the Columbia area. Hoping to find a decent rent around $800-$900 a month. Would like a condo with tennis courts and a workout room.

I personally love the Windermere area. West Ashley is an all-around great town, with down-to-earth residents. I lived there for years, and it remains very popular with my buyers.

It also houses my favorite restaurant, Al-Di-La. You may want to check out crime statistics for yourself, though.

Good luck!
