Question white gables

looking for a 2nd/ retirement home with open family room, nice kitchen/ I am intrigued by the White Gables concept, even though the lots are small/ are the values continuing to fall for resales and how about the costs of new construction if we chose to build there/ I originally planned on waiting a few years but if prices are really low should we make the move? also is Saussy Burbank the sole developer? thanks

Default Good builder

Yes, Saussy is the builder. Austin is Maintenance Sup. there and was very helpful with providing info on how they build when I visited a few weeks ago.
Costs are good and we are looking in that area as well.
Plenty of new lots on site with pond view and their amenities are built.
Yards are small with back alleys for access to the detached garages.
Good luck!

I like the rear access to the homes, but I don't like the small lots....

To each their own....

Depends what style you build in White Gables. I face a pond, and my back yard is big. Love living there. Great neighborhood.

I think it's a beautiful neighborhood with unique homes that have character! different than other cookiecutter subdivisions...and it's very fairly priced.

We are currently renting in White Gables and absolutely love it! However, we currently came across a great deal on a house to buy outside of the White Gables community and could not pass it up. We are sad to leave WG. We love the neighborhood and our neighbors. We are looking for someone to take over our lease. We will be moving at the end of October and our lease goes through April. Please let me know if you are interested!

White Gables is a great neighborhood with nice amenities. Alot of the homeowners bought at the height of our market and now they cannot sell and make a profit or sometimes break even. If you can find a good deal jump on it. Saussy Burbank is a very good builder and they have an excellent reputation.

The smaller homes (craftman style) are perfect for a second home. The lots and living space is smaller but for a second home it is perfect.

I know you are considering Mount Pleasant also. This area is much closer to the beach and downtown, but pricier. There are some great deals right now on town homes and SFH's. I know of one that was once selling for 300K and they they are giving it away at 230K asking price. This unit I know about in Park West is over 2200 sq ft of living space and is basically lock and leave as a second home. Many of the owners in this neighborhood us this as their second home.

thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I can't get down in person until february, Would you happen to know the listing agent on the Mt Pleasant condo? thanks so much for your input; White Gables sounds nice, I just hope my wife isn't put off by the apparent lack of mature trees , landscaping in the development
