Default 5 yr plan to move to Charleston area

We are on a 5 yr plan to move to the Charleston area, it' looking like Summerville is going to be where we look for a place to live, is that the most reasonable area?? We have two children as well

Right now this area has reasonable prices and great schools that's the draw. SFH's in the low 200K's, sometimes lower. The negative is it is 45 minutes from the beaches and Downtown.

You can get a SFH in Mount Pleasant (now) for under 300K this is also a desirable area. Great schools and much closer to downtown and beaches.

It just depends on what your looking for.

Adding that in 5 years things could be different. I know in Mount Pleasant our traffic issues should be taken care of since they are widening Hwy 17 and Ironbridge, and Rifle Range.

By "reasonable" if you mean price for the house, than yes, Summerville is the most reasonable. Price per square foot is lower and the schools are still very good. If you desire to be closer to Charleston and the ocean and such...go with Mt. P. I'm not sure where you are going to be commuting for work, but that would definitely play a big part for me. Let us know any more specific q's you might have. Five years will go fast!
Good luck,
Foster
