More Summerville Questions
Hi all:
I have a few more questions, I hope you don't mind. Making a big move is a scary thing. Especially if you have lived in the same area for your whole life. From the visits and research I've done, I think we would like to live in the Ashborough sub-division in Summerville. My daughter is in 3rd grade and would be attending the Beach Hill Elementary school. I know these questions have been asked before, but I really need to hear from people who know the school and what they think. We may come down there during the Thanksgiving weekend to really try to determine what's best for our family. We have been thinking of relocating to Summerville from Long Island for several years now but have had some family issues that kept us here. Now things are different and we can move any time we choose. I also would like to know if anyone has rented in any of the condos in the Ashborough sub division and how they liked it. Renting first before buying is an option for us but we would like to rent in the same sub division we want to buy in later. Same schools, people, etc. Thank you all so much, this forum I'm sure has helped many people.

We are also relocating, but we really like Ashborough East, which is Flowertown Elementary. We've heard good things about Beech Hill Elem. since we were looking at Legend Oaks for awhile. We even trick-or-treated there during our most recent house hunting trip, and the people were VERY friendly and said that they loved the school.
Good luck with your move!

We like Ashborough East also, but Ashborough (not East) is on the other side of the road and those kids go to Beech Hill. We also heard very good things about it.

Barbara what part of Long Island? I myself am from Babylon and also thinking of relocating to the Summerville area. Schools are very important to me also I have 1 small child and 1 on the way. I have just started my research but have heard alot of good things about Summerville. I have family on Hilton Head Island but I just could not picture raising a family there. Like yourself I NEVER thought in a million years that I would leave Long Island but its just so expensive. I am looking forward to visiting this Summerville this summer. Maybe we will be neighbors lol GOOD LUCK

Gracie, Ashley Ridge is too new to have a track record yet, it has only been open for two full years.

We live in West Babylon but are in the North Babylon school district, one of the reasons we want to move. My property taxes are just over $12,000 a year and when my daughter goes to middle school in two more years I will also have to pay for private school. We have enough equity in our house that we could buy a nice house in Ashborough with no mortgage and no private school. It's almost a no brainer!

Barb, I would still look into the private school, they are so much better than what you get from the government...
With what you are going to save in property taxes and not having a mortgage it is very doable....

Private schools here run about $1000.00 a month. I do plan to check them out in Summerville but I would like to be able to keep more of our income to live on then we do here.
