Default Is Charleston Pet Friendly?

My fiance has a job opportunity in Charleston and we are thinking about moving there in the next few months. I own a dog walking and pet sitting business in Colorado and have had much success here. I'm curious if there is much demand for this type of service in the Charleston area?

Thanks - that's encouraging! I've been researching on the Internet for the past few weeks and couldn't find many pet care businesses in Charleston. Didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing!

Hey TomCat - noticed you are a Libertarian, as am I. It's been a challenge living in very liberal Denver. What is Charleston like politics-wise? I would assume conservative for the most part? Volunteer opportunities? I figure it's ok to discuss politics on an Internet forum...

OP--you might look into marketing your pet services towards visitors too. Out on the islands, many visitors want to bring their pets. Many accommodations (vacation rentals and the like) are NOT pet friendly.

Perhaps you could fill the void--visitors bring their dogs to the island for the day for a beach day but at night the dogs stay at your "hotel"

I know out on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands there are huge number of animal lovers. Seabrook has its own property owners' group--SIDOGS (Seabrook Island dogs). I'm sure these property owners do travel and need to board their pets from time to time.
