I still like La Pizzeria, it's not just a pizza place. Everything on that menu is great!

Is that the one in MTP that's run by a couple of Brooklyn boys that escaped the Mafia?? On Houston Northcutt I think ... If so, YES, they have good pizza!

A friend wanted me to try Cuoco Pazzo at 1035 Johnnie Dodds, Suite B6 in M.P. I haven't been yet. They are opened Monday thru Saturday. Here is their menu: Cuoco Pazzo - Menu

Yep, that's the one. But they also have terrific pasta dishes, great sauce, homemade desserts, etc. Certainly a great place that's not too expensive.

Amalfi's on Spring street is great. I live close by and go all the time. They are a full Italian restaurant and pizzeria. The husband and wife both work there. He is from Napoli, Italy. You should check it out.

I agree, Gennaro's is great. So is a newer Italian Restaurant on Trolley Road called Tomatoes. It's next to the Ace Hardware store.

I agree with La Pizzeria..very nice, & close by here in Mt. P.
After driving a friend to the airport, we thought we'd try the Italian at Philly's, off Dorchester & Ladson ...closed for the day, unfortunately.
BUT, right there on Trolley Rd., we found Tuscan Bistro. Wonderful mozzarella used..the owner is from Italy via NYC. When we complimented the taste of the cheese on the chicken parmigiana, he told us it's Buffalo mozzarella. Delicious! I think this was a cheese steak place originally before this guy bought it last year. Not elegant, but what we had was good. We're gonna take the drive back soon.

La Pizzeria gets my vote as well. And surprisingly enough, Athens on Maybank has great Italian dishes as well.

never tried Tomatoes and I live merely blocks away... dropped by it for a menu look the first week it was open, wayyyy overpriced...

but by the signs I've seen on the board outside they have significantly dropped the pricing... still have no desire to try it though... Gennaro's is where we go when we want real good authentic Italian food

tried the Bistro on Trolley a cpl yrs ago and didn't really care for it, with new owners I guess I need to try it again....
