...Other than the fact that we all need it? No. But I believe the Clemson University Restoration Institute in the Charleston area will be researching wind turbine and drivetrains for this type application.

Interesting.....

They have to be pretty big inorder to be seen from the shore to eight miles out.....

You can see the Ravenel from 7-8 miles out...on a clear day that is...

I have yet to figure out why anyone would complain about "seeing" wind turbines. The things are quite attractive to me.

Yes, you should be able to see them 8 miles offshore (that's not that far).

I also think there are plenty of places inside along the rivers that would make fine spots for some turbines.
