Just looking into what i will be able to afford in MP........Our family income will be around 5500 month tax free ......Also another 3300 a month possible on the SSD. im wondering when u buy a home ...do they iclude SSD towards what u earn???? Since SSD is not guarenteed????
We basically will only have about 10,000 credit debt and have 2 cars to pay for...630 month total. 16000 in school loans 2 pay.... After that we are pretty good. Im trying 2 c wat people in that area can afford with similar income to mine..... Again Thank u for ur time...This is a great site and very helpful...U really see how most people just wana help others...Thanks again

With that much debt and that little income you may have trouble in MtP where homes start in the mid 250K and go way up from there.....

Might want to look at Summerville or one of the other burbs....

To quote Dave Ramsey, if you do a deal with this much debt Mr. Murphy is going to move into your spare bedroom.....

Default suprised!!

Suprised....yes...I thought 64,000 year was pretty good down there...and another 40000 in SS......104,000 a year. I didnt think 10000 in credit card was too bad and school loan is very low payment.... Thanks for info.....sometimes u need a reality check.... Laxmax

My DW is a local teacher, special ed teachers are in demand everywhere when there is money, right now they are only hiring in critical need schools, aka failing schools, and they are furlowing teachers and administrators between 5 and 10 days a year....

Pay depends on the number of years teaching and education level.....

You should be able to make it, but it may be tight. The average income for Mt P is 80K. Depending on what type of home your looking for you may be able to find one lower that 250K RIGHT Now.
