If you want an in-town neighborhood where every house is different and there are no HOA's or anything like that - try Tea Farm or County Club Estates off of 17A. If you want more of a rural type setting, maybe Jedburg would be good???
I would look at in-town properties if you want the look and feel of an area that grew organically and wasn't planned and built all at once yet is still close to schools, churches, etc. Good luck!

Anything in the Historic District, I know there are a few Nice Big homes there....
Oh and don't practice your southern accent, either it comes naturally or it doesn't. Don't put on a fake one it will **** off the natives........

well I would hate to **** off the natives.....
we are not especially looking for a big home. Just one that isn't cookie cutter. I would prefer not to live in a development.

To not live in a development you need to look outside of the metro areas.....
Look out towards Knightsville, Cottageville, etc.....

Hi Crguthr,
I would suggest looking in the historic district of Summerville, or some of the older neighborhoods that were built before the "cookie cutter" developments started. Areas such as Gadsden, Pine Forest Country Club, Ashborough, Trotters Ridge, Cantering Hills.
My wife and I raised all four of our children in downtown Summerville and really enjoyed the atmosphere, closeness of everything and community.
Let us know any more questions you may have!
Sincerely,
Foster Smith

for acreage under 300K your going have to go rural Johns island, Hollywood, monks corner. Not the best schools in these areas and far for your Boeing Commute.
