What exactly is there to do in Summerville for kids? I am a SAHM and I have a 2 year old. We try and go out every day someplace close. We are moving there in September.
Thanks !

Belladee: Your child will only be 2 for one year. Children grow up very quickly. Try and look at the big picture. She will soon be into dancing lessons, tumbling, etc. Try not to be fixated on age 2. I bet there are playgrounds around there for toddlers. Is there is a swimming pool in your new neighbourhood? Look on down the road, at what a good area you will be in. Wait a few years, and you will be priced out. Then you will have regret.

Frow what I can tell there are 2 playgrounds. I see what you are saying about a better place when he is older but the fact is is that being a SAHM you NEED things to do with a 2,3,4 year old outside of the house or you may go crazy. It is going to be 3 years before he starts school and that is a LONG time. I NEED things to do with him for that time

Sahm
Have you looked into joining a MOPS group? I don't live in Summerville, but I am coming to visit my inlaws there in a few weeks....which is why I was online, looking to see what I could do with my kids while I am there. I live in PA, but I have been a part of a MOPS group for almost 5 years. It is the only thing that keeps me sane as a stay at home mommy. You can look on their website to see where the nearest one would be. www.mops.org Good luck!!!

What neighborhood are you moving into? There is a YMCA (in The Ponds opening soon). I don't live in Summerville but.. I assume they have a library. You could drive to North Charleston or one of the other county parks and do the water parks.
I also have a 2 year old so I know what your going through, but I have a newborn too so it limits what I can do.

There is a YMCA downtown and off of Trolley as well. There is a public library on Trolley...its small but I'm sure they do readings with children. Also, you might visit the Barnes and Noble in N. Charleston for story time (Tues. mornings, I think?) I'd definitely check into the Little Gym.
I have a 6 mo. old and we try to get out every day, even if its driving a mile with the windows down! They need fresh air and in the summers its just too hot to be sitting outside. We go to the pool sometimes, but I don't like too much sun exposure and its hard to cover him in sunscreen everyday! We'll probably join the Little Gym when he starts walking (I think it would be a waste before then!!)
