Plenty of areas. Nearly too many to mention, would give you all of the above within 30 minutes of downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant. The easiest way to sort through them would be to ask what size home, and what price range you were considering.

Parts of West Ashley, James Island, Johns Island, Mount Pleasant, the Charleston Peninsula and Daniel Island would be good places to start. Price range and age/size of the home would help narrow that down.

If you like quieter, you may want to look for something on the Ashley River, a bit more in the country and scenic?...Summer's Bend on the Ashley is a new community which is looking very beautiful so far.

ch12,
Could you say what city you & your husband grew up in? It has some bearing on advice about what 30 minutes means from "city-life activity".

I get what your saying, it's just that there are cities and then there are cities.
