My mom and I are moving to Mt. Pleasant and looked at a bunch of apartments on our trip down this week- we finally settled on Belle Hall apartments due to good pricing and proximity to shopping. However, in checking out apartment rating sites, all the reviews are very old/negative. Doesn't seem to be much on this site either. Does anyone know anything about this complex? Thanks for any insight you can provide!

I had a friend who lived there a couple of years ago and really like them. She never had any problems that I know of, but I didn't live there so I have no first hand experience.

I have heard nothing first hand about them but bare in mind that normally only people with a bad experience bother to post reviews.

I am slightly suprised by your pricing comment!

What are the rental rates and what are some other good rental apartments in the stretch between Mt. Pleasant and North Charleston? Thanks

I don't know the rates but in Mount Pleasant check out. Edgewater Apartments, Paces Watch, and Legends of Charleston national (not sure if they are still renting they were selling as condos).

I know PapaJim, you were trying to stay close to DI. have you looked into Palmetto Place? They were selling as condos and renting. It is off of Clements Ferry.

Edgewater was ok- you've got to take 526 to get to downtown though and when we were there (on a Sunday) it looked pretty "young" (not sure what age group you're in)- i.e. some partying going on by the pool. Legends was nice but pretty far out on 17- I'm told that can be a bear in the morning. Runaway Bay (Mt. Pleasant) looked pretty nice- but had a weird entrance right near a car dealership. Heron Reserve in W Ashley was really nice. And if you're looking for reaaaallly nice, the Greystar property on Daniel Island is beautiful- but pricey ($1300 at the low end). The place in Belle Hall we got is a 2 bedroom and with the special I think it's $1035 or something like that. Anything right around $1000 was good for us! Good luck!

They are a bit pricey at Belle Hall but any problems we have had (toilet stopped working, A/C quit, fire alarms chirping, faucet coming loose, etc.) are dealt with almost immediately. We came from living in a house for 30 years and are pleasantly surprised with their commitment to making living there stress free. A very well run business.

Paces Watch is really conveniently located (9 minutes to downtown, 15 minutes to sand-in-your-toes Isle of Palms, 3 minutes to 526) and not too pricey. You can find a 2 bedroom for around $1000. But the units are older, so you get old appliances and not so great A/C. Electric bills are outrageous. We paid $149 for electricity last month and the average temp was 55F. It's crazy. On the plus side, the management is decent and responsive and the place isn't crawling with obnoxious college kids like some of the other places around here.

This is off topic, but I had to comment on your electric bill. Mine was $148 last month and the heat was barely on! When I was telling my mother she asked if I did a lot of baking last month, which I did. Maybe that is why your electric bill was high also? It could also be SCE&G's stupid way to determine what we should pay.
