I just started fishing and like it quite well. I was wondering if anyone knows of a close place to Summerville to fish at. I have gone to the boat landing a few times and inside of the fort on Dorchester Rd but never catch anything there. I just want to go somewhere i feel safe as i am a female and i take my kids with me when i go sometimes.

Lake Moultrie, just north of Moncks Corner, has several shoreline fishing spots.....

You could always try the Folly pier. I know its a long way,,,but its very safe! The kids could play on the beach if they dont want to fish. (Depending on there age)

You could stop by Haddrells Point tackle shop in west Ashley and talk to the guys in there about what to use.
