According to this article from the Daily Mail
It seems like a no-brainer to me, as long as they can figure out transportation issues to bring solid waste from multiple communities in the Valley. They need ~250 tpd, where SC makes 60-65 tpd.
This project is "green" on many levels and is something this state sorely needs. It is a 10-15 MW project, so it is the equivalent of the world's largest wind turbine, without the dead birds (I'm being facetious; I love wind farms). The solid waste is used to make a syngas, which is then burned for heating. The resultant emissions pass every quality test you could throw at it, and the burnt solid waste ash can be used as a precursor in asphalt (more paving projects!).
