Default West Side has new nationally reconized historic district

The Luna Park Historic District will have a great impact on the West Side, aswell as the efforts that have been taking place there thanks to West Side Main Street. This is more great news!

YES!!! I love that part of the city! I love the history behind it all and I love that the West Side has something to truly take pride in now. Also, the sheer fact that Charleston had an amusement park before gives me traction to quell the arguments of nay-sayers who think getting another near here sounds ridiculous. But yes, huzzah for the West Side! Times are a-changin' and we can only go up from here! =D

That's great news! The decent people who live on the West Side needed a boost like that to shove out the slumlords and the druggies. Charleston's old buildings are a treasure, and an integral part of the city's charm. Southerners, and Charleston seems to identify more with the South, are much better stewards and preservationists than the Rust Belt is.
