Courtyard's new hotel in downtown will start consttruction in March and will be finished by July 2014. The Long John Silvers beside the hotel has agreed to shut down and look for a new location to build on. The hotel will then use that lot, and make the hotel bigger than expected.

The Ramada in downtown is finally starting its massive remodel and when complete it will change its brand to a Sheraton Four Points.

Both Hotels will change not only the atmosphere of downtown, but will add a modern feel to the skyline. Can't wait to see both complete.

I was down for the boys state basketball tournament today and noticed construction has begun on this project. Looks like its going to be a pretty large scale property.

We stayed at the Ramada last summer. They were starting work then. One of the elevators was closed for refurbishing and they had some sort of beauty pageant going on. Near impossible to get on the other elevator with the girls and their clothes racks.

Oh yea, that's going to be nice once the hotel switch is made and over $10m in improvements are made to the old Charleston House.

But I'm referring to the construction on the new Courtyard. It just began last week. There was a lot of dirt being moved.
