Hey everybody, Still a fresh transplant from New York exploring job opportunities here to support my 2 sons and family best, I was thinking of starting car detailing,I do bring excellent skill down with me so I was wondering if theres anybody here that could comment on the sustainability of vehicle detailing? Is there anybody here that would personally get it done? Im in the process of turning my 2 car garage into a detail shop, and its mostly there, any input greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone.

I would always consider it as I am too lazy to do that degree of cleaning to my car haha.

It would just depend on how competitive your rates would be. There is a place downtown that does details and I have used them before.

Best wishes if you do decide to go into business for yourself.

I don't want you to think nobody is reading your post, but I know nothing about car detailing. I still haven't finished cleaning the dog hair out of our van from a trip taken in October.

Dog hair is quite stubborn especially if its on the material on the back of your seats (if you have an SUV and fold down) you`ll need a high powered shop vac like I have! lol, Thanks for the input guys,Anything is appreciated! Please keep it coming!

There are people who seem to be able to make a go of this. I know a couple people that were able to get in with a dealer to get work. You are going to have to offer good rates to do this but it may be cheaper for a small lot to pay to have a car initially done than to hire someone and buy all the supplies.

Maybe delve into other aspects. Window tinting for instance. I did my last car. After doing it I decided it was the last I would do it myself. LOL. I just had my newer car done by a detail shop..
