Certainly good news for the CTC and downtown. If the city could get occupancy rates back up in Laidley, BB&T, and United (all close proximity to Court Street Entrance of mall), then that would help lure tenants to the Five Guys/Qdoba spaces.

A friend of mine said they spoke to someone at the mall and JCPenny’s might close in April. I’m not sure about the reliability of that info but I’m hoping that’s wrong. I don’t want to drive to Southridge every time I need a pair of pants.

That would be extremely disappointing considering the recent closing of Macyís. JCP nationally seems to be bucking trends similar to Kohlís.

Hopefully that is just a rumor
