Hey, My son, husband and I are going to be moving back to the Charlotte school district in a few months. When we originally moved out to California, and went to enroll my son in school, we found out that the school district had a cap on the amount of students (20 per classroom) so he had to enroll in a school that wasn't his homeschool until they had an opening in his grade. Is it the same way in Charmeck or Union County schools? Or, will they just accept him since it is his homeschool. He is 9, so we are looking into Providence area for highschool - we'd like to be somewhere where we don't plan on moving until after he's out of highschool. Thanks!

My understanding is that if you live in that area you can enroll your child without a cap. I would certainly phone the school and ask that question directly though just to be sure.

That's how it is in Fort Mill, SC right now, but in Charlotte you're guaranteed a seat at your home school. Under the current iteration of the school choice plan, at least.
