Funny Fact: When we were in Charlotte this past April my boyfriend and I both commented on how pretty, nice looking, and well kept everyone in Charlotte was! Not to mention fit! I guess that's where people from the midwest differ!!! I come there and think everyone looks good and you are saying everyone is getting heavier, HA!
In the NY area people were more fit as an average I thought..but I will say in uptown people are in better shape than the areas outside.
Curious- what attire do people wear in bed and what bedclothes do they have on the bed?
We sleep with just a sheet on and nothing else. When we have the ceiling fan on low sometimes I have to pull the quilt up during the night.
At 70 in the house I feel cold.
Anyone open windows on cooler nights?
I am not a great sunlover (fair skinned and burn easily, plus prickly heat sufferer) neither do I love the heat, but I was determined to try and cope as we have a large yard that's not very easy to look after but at least has lots of trees. Lawn is looking a touch burnt already though. I don't work and couldn't bear being cooped up in A/C for 3 months of the year.
We went into Charlotte on Sunday, and it felt much hotter than up here. I think cities are always a few degrees hotter, and all that tarmac and concrete too. I was dashing from one piece of shade to another, same as I try to do in the yard.
We have access to swimming in the lake, but I would give my right arm for a swimming pool right now.
Thanks ....yea, weird why the south is so bad...the heat? I dunno but its serious and sad really./
I'll tell you another thing thats sad 96 freakin degrees right now!! May as well be 20 and snowing out for what its worth regarding being outside. ...
I think it's more likely the types of food/cooking that is more common in the south than it is the heat.
Again, I find myself more likely to be outside and active if it means sweating than I would if it meant bundling up against the cold. Might just be me...

Well.... being overweight is a life choice and unfortunately too many don't respect it.
Well honestly, I think I am outside WAY less here than I was in the north. I honestly think that the hot weather makes people lazy.

Its a combination of things.....everything here is fried which makes everything taste good, but its the worst for you.......people here eat more processed foods also which are not good.
Also, there is no incentive to have people walk/bike where there is in other areas.
This does not go for EVERYBODY obv, however its more so than not.
I alway had a fantasy about swimming with one arm. Congrats on your ability.
Only kidding.
Swiming in a lake in summer is like swimming in a hot bath..
