Did someone say Nick Mackey???

Lied on his State of NC Bar Exam application?

Wanted to be Sheriff.

Didn't pay his taxes multiple times (fed and state)

He was suspended from CMPD in 1991 for playing certain music too loudly in his car during an off-duty job.

He was suspended by CMPD for conduct unbecoming and unsatisfactory job performance when his supervisor on multiple occasions in 2002 improperly recorded Sergeant N.V. Mackey’s duty time on daily duty status reports. The improper recording of Sergeant Mackey’s time allowed Sergeant Mackey to receive credit for hours worked which he in fact did not work.

He was reprimanded by the North Carolina State Bar for poor quality service and overcharging in 2008.

He was reprimanded by the North Carolina State Bar for Reprimand from NC Bar for falsifying information on his bankruptcy petition in 2008.

He was reprimanded by the North Carolina State Bar for professional misconduct (falsifying information) less then 1 year ago.

He has claimed bankruptcy. The judge issued the default judgment against Mackey & Associates for $85,094 for breach of contract and $12,764 for attorneys’ fees. The judge’s ruling also calls for Mackey to pay interest until the judgment is paid in full.

He no pay his bills!!!

And finally to get me off of this band wagon.....results of a survey just released by the non-partisan organization North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research. Slick Nick was ranked 115th of 119 NC House members surveyed, Rep. Mackey is ranked as the least effective Democratic House member and one of the five least effective members of the North Carolina State House of Representatives.

And he wants NC to legalize weed.

I might be able to forgive everything else...

We can only pray this will be the case!!

Why not stay in the northeast if that's all you want (a liberal agenda)? It already exists there - oh, and we see how well that has worked out Some of you folks slay me.

Then they'll find their blue leaning ways have made Charlotte unaffordable, like New York and New Jersey, then move on and lay waste to some other city and state, make that unaffordable, move on again...

And then blame those damn conservatives for the plight of the nation!

Why would I want to leave Charlotte? It's the best Northern city I've ever lived in!! I love it here, so long as the backwards locals stay out of my way and keep moving out!! Love Charlotte..the BLUE city!!!

It's interesting to note that the people screaming, "Charlotte is liberal!" in this thread are conservatives! LOL

It's a trend you'll see on this board -- most people here are very conservative. And IMHO, it really reflects the larger population of Charlotte, despite who's been voted into office. I don't think I know anyone here in town I could call truly "liberal." All my friends are moderates or conservatives...

We are moving to the area (actually Fort Mill) from Plano, TX. It is hard to tell from the people but I would say that the Charlotte Observer has a "liberal" slant compared to the Dallas Morning News. That is just a gut reaction in the first month or so. I tend to be fiscally conservative and socially moderate-conservative depending on the issue.

I have to say SC politics will be interesting - I like Nikki Haley and Lindsey Graham...but the other "win" reminded me of my roots in Chicago politics.

Hey - shout out to Chicago Cubs Fan...been a Cubbies fan since the 60's. Ron Santo was our neighbor
