Cool Attempted Robber Shot & Killed in Monroe Holdup

I hate it for this young man; that he made the choice to point a gun at another citizen and demand money. I'm glad, however, that this family is able to keep their money and livelihood without fear of this particular thug killing them in the future. Every robbery-prone establishment should be prepared for this type situation, and if they end the same way, I would tend to think robberies would be a little less common.

You can not blame the clerks for arming themselves. They felt they needed the protection since their store had been robbed before. The Observer article stated that it was a family owned business so the clerks are just trying to earn a honest living, and then thug boy comes in and demands money while waving a gun... Can not blame the clerks for doing what they did, in the seconds that they had to think...

Crime does not pay... or at least it shouldn't anyway.

The thugs in this town need to get a clue. Threatening folks at gunpoint is not a sustainable life skill.

Thanks for the link, Ani. What a hack that guy interviewing the clerk was. "Um....I already asked you that....well, um....maybe I'll ask you this....um.....do you like marmalade?"

I am glad that this clerk and his bro were not injured, they are the ones trying to make an honest living. Anybody who thinks they should point a gun at someone and demand anything should be prepared to get jacked up. I love real justice.

That interviewer was definitely a moron. I only watched about half of the interview; did he ask about their favorite colors, or some other relevant info?

Kudos to those brothers for saving taxpayers the $100,000's for the trial, and $35K+ for each year of incarceration. And for removing any possibility that this proven thug can harm anyone else, before, during or after his sentence.

I think I'll go down there and buy some stuff from them.

I was thinking the same thing. Just don't do any robbery jokes, like make a gun with your fingers or anything. Probably too soon. Seriously, though, these type family-owned stores are the fabric of our communities and it's great to see them succeed.
