Default Basketball

I plan on being in the Charlotte area living by next basketball season at the latest. Basketball is my passion, especially GOOD HS and College. Living in Ft. Mill (hopefully Bridgehampton or BCC), would I be close to good hoops in both SC and NC? I just want to enjoy life and go to games lolol.

For college hoops, the only school in the area would be UNC-Charlotte. they're sometimes good, but not consistently good. Most of the bigger college sports schools (Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Clemson) are probably a 2-3 hour drive from Charlotte.

I'm guessing that there's competitive HS basketball in the area since there are so many big name colleges relatively close by that probably recruit a fair share of local talent.

UNC-Charlotte is OK, but Winthrop University (in Rock Hill) and Davidson College (in the Lake Norman area) both made it to the NCAA tourny this year and did well. The BIG followings around here in basketball are UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke, and NC State.

In HS basketball, Concord HS won the NC 3A championship this year (did so in football too). In Charlotte, Vance/Providence/West Charlotte HS's seem to do well each year, as do the HS's in Rock Hill and Gastonia. There are some very good private school teams to (Charlotte Christian/Victory Christian/ Charlotte Latin/Providence Day).

We love basketball as well. My oldest son's middle school team here in Cabarrus County won the homeschool state championship this past February.

Well, the Winthrop University Basketball games are getting a little harder and harder to get tickets to....but I know the Fort Mill High School Boys and Girls Basketball games would be another great choice!

Default I will be a season Ticket holder!!!!

I guess Ft. Mills HS will have a new fan lolol. I love good hard tough HS basketball. As a native of NYC via NJ and PA., I am a bit spoiled. Having a son who was a HS national top 75 junior, and national top 100 senior in HS basketball was a great experience. Son now making a name in MOVIE and TV industry lolol.

I LOVE HS and College basketball. In fact I have coached at least 10 present or past NBA guys during there time in HS and on the AAU circuit. I have also coached College and ren successful out of season workout programs that have attracted hundreds of college coaches. By the way I never ever charged a fee to participate or watch.

So you can see I am a serious fan of the game. And yes I will also buy ticckets to Winthrop and Davidson College games. I even know Bob McKillip quite well and have met Greg Marshall a few times. I just need to get information on Charlotte Christian Schools program. I hear Bobby Jones, the ex Tarheel is the coach.

Winthrop in Rock Hill is a good team to follow. They usually make it to the tournament.
