I am originally from NYC - and up there we had a few "themed" restaurants such as Mars 2112 where it was as if you were dining in Mars and Jekell & Hyde which was a 'haunted' theme. I'm trying to see if Charlotte or its surrounding has any themed restaurants that I can take my daughter to for her 12th bday.
I hope to get more responses too...I've been to the Tilted Kilt and to my surprise, their food was really good..plus it was a fun place to eat at. Hopefully I can get more 'kid-friendly' suggestions.

Nice! Thanks for jogging the ol memory. I loved J&H when i lived there.
Sorry can't offer any suggestions for here other than NASCAR related. We don't even have a Rainforest Cafe I'm afraid.
We had a Rainforest Cafe upstate NY (West Nyack) and they closed down years ago...I was hoping they had one close to Charlotte, but I think the closest is in Florida..that was a really fun place.

OMG...MARS 2112!!! My son loved that place when he was younger! We went to the Rosie O'Donnell show 3Xs & everytime we went, we had to go there.
Down by the Carolina Place Mall is a restaurant called Bucca de Beppo. I swear I was in my aunt's basement there, lol!! It's "Immigrant Italian" food served family style. We went there a few weeks ago with friends for a high school graduation luncheon. The food was OK. They do have a website.

We had one 5 minutes from our house in Illinois. My kids miss it
Hmm..my girls were very young when we went to Rainforest Cafe years ago...I'm sure they don't remember it..I looked up the website and don't see one in Atlanta yet...hopefully it's coming soon. I would love to take my girls there again...even though they're in the teenager stage, im sure they'll love it!
I'm not sure exactly what kind of theme you're looking for, but my friend lives there and says there a couple 80's themed places. They might be clubs - not sure. One is call The Breakfast Club.
