Several times a week, usually in the evenings, I am unable to watch any channels. The guide comes up and I can watch shows that have been DVR'd, but unable to watch live TV- its just a black screen. Is this common with Time Warner?

Shouldn't be. Call them and have them come out and look at it.

I have this issue sometimes too. Not every night but maybe once or twice a week. It'll happen randomly in the middle of a show, but comes back up within 5 minutes. My household is so hectic I jsut take it as asign to get off my ***** and get back to some chore or another Let me know if you find something out though.

Thanks

It is an issue with your service, you should call in to have a tech come out.

I'd also try resetting the box if you have not done that in a while. Unplug, wait several seconds, then plug back in and wait a few minutes for the box to re-boot.

Sometime several months ago we had that happen where were were getting sound but no picture. I reset the box and it was fine going forward.

it is a problem. we have had this problem for months with techs coming out and putting new splitters and amps on the inside cabling. it seems that our area is so old that the system was never set up to handle the new hd/digital services. the reading on our outside box reads a 1 when is should read 10.
no one seems to want to fix the problem. our house is 25 years old so the cable lines are that old.

Maybe that's when they put on the "quality" programming!

Since my post last week, I continued to experience problems almost daily. Time Warner finally came out today and exchanged my box. Apparently, they have had lots of issues with the Samsung boxes, so I got a different one by Scientific Atlanta- hopefully this solves the problem!

Its not in your cable wires if they have been switched over to the fiber option cable ..Its in their hardware...but as long as they are getting your payment every month thats the main thing,
