I have been in contact with 1 agent who represents several companies I've never dealt with before (Travelers, Montgomery are 2 of them) - would be interested to hear if anyone has an agent and/or company they would recommend?

Only 1 recommendation? Sheesh, no love for the insurance agents.

If you are prior military I would suggest USAA.

I 2nd this suggestion! Check USAA.com and see if you qualify for membership. It's expanded far beyond just military and prior-service folks now.

Erie insurance through Mark McDuffie on Fairview Rd. Best rate I could find anywhere.

We switched to Geico when we moved down here and saved 50% over what we were paying in MI. I guess they have a big footprint here and can give better rates.
I will look into Erie though and compare them to what we pay.
//Edit - Erie does not provide service in SC according to their web site..

Does anyone have any info on Amica? Their commercials and website would make someone believe they are the bomb for rates and customer satisfaction.
