After all I have read and heard I would have a tough time plunking down $290,000 for a Beazer home.

According to a series of reports in the Charlotte Observer, Beazer sells homes to people who shouldn't be buying homes. Their neighborhoods have a larger than average number of foreclosures. Foreclosed houses aren't maintained and generally bring down the neighborhood.

So the problem with Beazer seems to be their selling practices. Is there any evidence that they've changed their ways and that they won't contribute to numerous foreclosures in their Berewick neighborhood?

Are there any complaints about the houses and their construction themselves?

I really would not worry too much about Beezer. The aberdeen price range is from the $290's. That is a whole new product and has nothing to do with the foreclosures.

The foreclosures all happened in "first time Homebuyer" nieghborhoods. Thats typically where that happens. Believe me, I do not work for Beezer, but I do feel bad for them. They got A LOT of bad press. Yes, their in house loan company did give out loans to folks who shouldnt get loans, but they did. And as far as Im concerned its 90% the buyer fault. They are the ones who did not pay their mortgage. They have nobody to blame but themselves.

Also, as Ive mentioned, I worked for KB and worked at Berewick myself. And Papas Properties is not going to just let any ole builder build there. There are alot of rules and regulations from the develpor. More regulations then you as a buyer would ever know.
