Looking for owner financing house in Mooresville, Davidson, Denver etc (Charlotte: real estate, lease)

Hello, we are moving from Michigan we are leaving on July 20th. Starting over no work here, We have 3 children, we have a smaller down payment and partridge and a pear tree... (JK). However we are a Christian family looking for a nice neighborhood, good schools and looking for a payment of $800 or less. We like Mooresville, Davidson, Denver, Sherrills Ford, and Lake Norman area. The bigger the yard the better, or a pool, 3-4 beds are great, a basement if possible. You need work on a house we can fix it. My husband has been a carpenter for over 11 years and is the next best carpenter to Jesus.

Welcome to Charlotte, I'm also from Michigan. I do hope you already have jobs lined up down here, the unemployment rate is also pretty bad in NC. You might have better luck finding owner financing via Craigslist posting - but I will say that basements are hard to come by (they just don't build them down here), so be prepared for a sticker shock price if you do find one.

I am pretty sure that you won't find a home in the Lake Norman area with the specs you describe for anywhere close to $800/month. This is a much more expensive area than that. I recommend going to Statesville, Lincolnton, Kannapolis, or the UNCC area in Charlotte. As the previous poster said, this is the wrong area to be looking for a job as in there really are not any.

Just wondering how you decided on NC and "north of Charlotte" in particular?

$800 a month for a house in the charlotte metro region can be iffy. You might find something like that in Statesville though.

Are you looking to rent or buy?

If it's cheap real estate that you're looking for, you'd have to look further north or go west of Charlotte.

This is the 16th. Are you planning to throw caution to the wind with 3 kids in 4 days, & you're just now posting?

I know of some construction projects west of Charlotte. I don't know where they are in the hiring process.

If money wasn't a concern there are a couple nice properties off Carmel Rd that are advertising lease to own status. Good luck with your search.
