A quick review of the book wouldn't hurt but you'll likely have no problem!

Good luck!

I'd recommend studying for the written test. I didn't, barely passed and I am normally an excellent test taker. They ask questions that are purposely confusing in an effort to trip you up. Many transplants I know went through the same thing. At least get the book and take a look through it beforehand.

This is not true, as I just got my vehicle title & registration on Friday & I do not have a NC license yet.

Yeah, I think it's wishful thinking on the DMV's part. I registered my SUV at the Rural Hall office. They never asked for any driver's license let alone a NC one, which I didn't have anyway. All they asked for was my NC address, insurance company policy number, out-of-state title and money. It might depend on which office one uses.

This is assuming you moved here from out of state.
This is exactly what I did also. My husband went to get his NC license yesterday and they told him that the insurance card needs to have his name on it also?? Both cars are in my name. I mean, you don't even have to have a car to get a license, right?? I don't get it.

No. Inspection was the last thing we did. Plates and registration was actually the first.

In addition to the standard car written test, if you wish to transfer your motorcycle designation, you also have to take another written exam for that.
