Okay please help me out, I really want to move and am not sure which area is better to live in ,I really have my mind set on charlotte;but don't know what town is more built up.
Please help me out and give me some advice.
I am a lesbian so my partner and I would like an area that is diverse and that is nice enough to where we could raise our son .
I am a bartender and my partner is into construction,electrical(hvac),etc...
So if anyone has any advice please let me know.

Well, it depends on what you're looking for I guess. As far as size and population Charlotte is far bigger than raleigh. I personally never liked raleigh very much, Charlotte offers all that raleigh does and then some (in my opinion). However I am a young single so I don't pay attention to taxes and school systems and the likes of all that.

Raleigh is an older city, more industrial, "dark" sorta speak.

Charlotte is much "newer" more "bright" if that makes sense.

That about seperates the 2 in a nuttshell.

I don't know if any area in NC has a gay scene like DC, but Durham is probably the closest to being gay-friendly of any place in the state, particularly for lesbians. One of my good friends (a transguy) lives there and can attest to a pretty good environment for girls who like other girls.

PM me if you want details.

Southern hospitality Charlotte's version. There is literally someone asking this question every day. Read the threads.

BTW, you would probably fit in more in Charlotte. There is a large gay and lesbian community here, but Raleigh has the universities, so maybe there is mor eof a community there. A lot of construction is done by immigrants is this state, regardless of location, but not necessarily HVAC and electrical.

No offense, but his point is valid. The generic questions you asked have been asked and answered here many times before. Have you searched the prior threads? It can be too time consuming for us regulars to keep repeating ourselves, though we love to tackle new or specific questions

Well actually I just came across this thread by typing in "info on Charlotte NC"
and this popped up, so I really havent even got a chance to actually read through the forums yet.
Thank you though for all of your advice.
