Shortage of good donuts shops
I missed my favorite donut shop in south florida called dandee donuts. the one in Deerfield beach area. The owner use the best ingrediants for the donuts the selection was great. he also serviced sandwiches and breakfast foods. too
Oh to find a dandee donut shop here would be great. nothing compare to dunkin donuts.

dunkin is not local krispy kreme is and doughnut shops are taking a loss due to the cut the carb craze so it really is a bad buisness venture
You should find where a local krispy kreme store is and hit it when the hot n now sign is lit.

I hate krispy kremes. Nasty little balls of grease that are so tiny. I even met a native southerner who said he would have to be starvin to even think about eating one of those. The carb craze is BS. Adkins company fikled for bankrupt last year. I eat about 500g of carbs a day and I am 6'4" and weigh 185. I'm 33 and I have been eating like that since I was a teenager.

You're absolutely right. I remember when a KK opened up in Malden,MA it took several detail police on saturday to direct traffic in and out. It was a frenzy (yes I waited in line to get my two boxes). I quickly realized that this can't be any everyday, or even an every week habit so I stopped. I remember hearing a msnbc clip about Starbucks vs. Krispy Kreme. Going into Starbucks 1-2 times a day is "ok" (yes you have a caffeine addiction) but going into KK 1-2 times each day is just bad (you'll be 400 lbs before the end of the year). Anyway they closed that KK in less than 3 years and it never made money. Maybe if they had half way decent coffee the franchise could have made the transition like DD did.

I have to disagree, respectively of course , Krispy Kreme's coffee has gotten a lot better since they started to roast their own in the last 2 years or so, it's even done here locally in Winston-Salem. DD coffee was rated lower than even McDonalds, which has great coffee. I don't think DD coffee is as good as it used to be and can't put my finger on why.
Back to the donut shop question. There is MJ Donuts in Pineville which is decent. I've heard rumors of a "Breakfast Place" opening up with bagels, and breakfast sandwiches in the Fountains Shopping center on the corner of Ardrey Kell & Tom Short Rd.

I am a southerner and NC native who HATES Krispy Cremes, too! Sometimes in a blue moon will get a craving for the plain little glazed DD munchkins. The best donuts I ever had were the ones my grandmother used to make us. It is a southern thing. I will have to ask my mother how to do it... Now I want some!!!

Well I'd love to be wrong, always room for a variety of places for good coffee. I'll give it one more shot.
