Cbm you'll discover that your friends and family will be coming down to visit you with some regularity. I have friends here from Brooklyn. First one son moved down, then another, then the Mother, then the father. Now the relatives and friends are settling in.

If you're a social person you shouldn't have any trouble making friends.

Us too! Lived in Sussex County for 15 years, then moved down here 2 years ago. We love it down here...

There are a lot of NJ/NY/PA folks down here... some bring the attitude , but most of the folks (and the locals) are very nice.

Please helppp! Thanks
What do you mean by lifestyle down south?

Moved from the Princeton area this June and love it. People are warm, friendly and outgoing, if you're the same you'll have no problems and will make friends quickly. It's been my experience that everyone here is from somewhere else. I've only met one person "from Charlotte" and that was the guy that installed my cable and he was very polite and friendly. I find it a nice change from NYC/NJ - I consider myself a native New Yorker.

Can't help with the job market question - I had one before moving but follow the advice here - have one before you come or else the experience may end up being very negative and frustrating

Good luck

I would echo the sentiment about finding a job before you move. My son is in customer service and has been out of work for almost 2 years. Interviews mean nothing. They interview you and then you never hear from them again. Just be cautious.
