The OP has stopped commenting on this thread. I think she has more than enough opinions and information. When will people give up on trying to have the last say on this?

Agreed!
But shall we continue to beat this dead horse?

I work Loss Prevention at a Retailer that has a system like Walmarts.. A detention without an Arrest is grounds for a law suit and taken very serious by the company i work with.. If a Asset Protection Agent gets a single Detention without an Arrest, most likely they will be fired from the company..
The AP agents are supposed to do a report of the DWA and if they dont write it up, i bet they will fired very soon.. Call up Walmart Corporate and please let them know.. Crappy LP/AP Agents give good ones bad names.. If you make a stop, you BETTER know what items they have and where they are on their person..

Update:
I haven't been on here in a long while, but thought I would update this thread. I haven't read everyone's replies, but to the kind people out there that actually understood the situation and sent me kind messages I say thank you.
Walmart settled for 4000.00 which has been put into a fund for my son when he turns 18.
Just to the people out there who thought the entire thing was ON ME and MY SON, well, apparently Walmart was willing to admit their error and paid for it.

I always appreciate it when an OP comes back to update a thread, so thanks!
Also glad things worked out for your son.
Perhaps you'd like to ask our mod to close this thread now, since the issue has been resolved
