I have relatives at Lake Norman High - don't think there are any problems there....
If they go to school on Brawley School Road, good luck. Traffic there in the mornings and evenings is horrendous. Apparently, every parent wants to drive their kid to school instead of letting them take the bus, so there are hundreds of cars on the road. When school is out, traffic is non-existent.

Start by doing a search of this forum for previous posts that were similar and you will always find folks referring you to greatschools.net. They have a lot of info. I would contact the districts directly as well with special concerns. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the reply..I have looked on the great schools site..but it does not reflect anything about special needs children. The zip code we are moving to is 28115. Any other thoughts and opinions are greatly wanted and needed. This is a big move for us. Thanks again for the replys.

My cousin just moved into Linwood farms today. She has a 10 yr old son who is high-functioning autistic/Asperbergers. She is very happy with the school & program he's being offered by the Mooresville graded school district, it's very similar to the one he had back in NY. He's even starting a summer program in 2 wks. She said very nice things about the special ed staff as well. My son just finished his freshman year at Mooresville HS. So far, all of his teachers have been wonderful. He did very well with all of his grades & loves the school. He enjoyed going every day...no complaints.

Where in Mooresville are you looking to move to?

Mooresville Graded better suited than Iredell-Statesville IMO. Smaller and with more individual attention. I actually know a couple of the Exceptional Children teachers at MHS. A great group of dedicated teachers. Very professional.

Like others have said, Linwood Farms is definitely worth checking out.
