They drive through subdivisions like a very expensive ice cream truck.

A huge truck from Central Carolina Connection showed up yesterday, and we ended up buying a Lane sofa and loveseat on the spot. I don't know anything about furniture but my wife assured me that Lane is good stuff.

I was a little concerned, but everything was in its original packaging and the price was sweet.

They had some Howard Miller grandfather clocks for $1,000 that I loved, but that's more of a "someday" item.

It's a Carolina tradition to have the furniture truck from places like Hickory come thru neighborhoods and sell things off the back

We bought some great wing back chairs like that 20 years ago and they lasted until I was ready for something new recently!

Oh, and Lane is "good stuff"!

They are parked at the corner of Hwy 51 and Park Rd. right now and setup for the day. About 20 minutes ago they were just starting to set everything up!

I didn't know that; that sounds like a pleasant "tradition", if you know when/where they're going to be.

Are the prices lower than in the shops?

Much. They're liquidation prices. They want to get rid of the stuff.

Plus you don't have the hassles of scheduling delivery.
