I want to have the 220V outlet at the stove converted to a 120V.
No wiring will need to be run, just the work at the outlet and the breaker box.
Can anyone recommend an electrician or two in Mooresville?
Back in Illinois the electricians think they deserve to be paid like brain surgeons.
What's the going labor rate around here? I wouldn't think it would be more than a 1-hour job.
You need to write out a contract of some type and have them sign it. Be careful just hiring random contractors off the internet. Also don't pay any money up front. You should probably call a professional company even though it might cost more it reduces your risk.

Make sure the area in front of the panel is clear and there is easy access to the receptacle. You don't want to be paying an electrician his rate to do housekeeping.
This person isn't in Mooresville, he is in Waxhaw, but he might consider coming there. He has done 2 things for me and he is very honest and very reasonable. His name is Jack and his company is White Horse Electric. His # is 704-226-6530. White Horse Electric, Inc
Thanks...I'll make some calls on Tuesday. I never knew about that site Kudzu. Pretty cool. Providence Electric has good reviews.
I also found a mystery switch in my kitchen. It doesn't drive any outlets and it's making me nuts! I was hoping there was a hidden outlet for some undercabinet lighting.
Reminds me of that old Stephen Wright joke: "There's a switch in my house that doesn't do anything. I like to just flip it on and off. Finally this lady called from Germany and said 'stop it.' "

Two possibilities for that switch-dishwasher, which is standard AFAIK, or a light switch for lights that are no longer there. I have both in my kitchen.
I'm still chuckling at the SW reference.
