i am relocating to Charlotte very soon, i am currently looking a apartment in the east,, i saw some things on the gangs that are in the area, is the east a good place to move to?? is it a safe area to raise a family? where are some good areas to move to in the city?

yes, 7000 barrington, Brittany apartments...I am not working with a huge budget, but I really need a safe environment. I have looked at several apartments so far in various areas, I am accepting a job at the airlines, which i understand is in west charlotte, map quest shows Brittany apartments to be about 20 minutes.. is this accurate?,
