Has the Pope ever visited Charlotte or the Carolinas? What type of reception do you think he would get in the Bible belt verses London or another part of the world?
So many are protesting due to the scandal within the Catholic church, but will there be a time when the controversy subsides?
Little known fact. Pope Ratzinger was in the hitler youth. This is our emissary to god? C'mon. Guy was on the wrong side in WWII and he let his priests diddle little boys.
The cause behind the controversy had been around since long before the church came together as an entity. We're just at a point in history where people are making an open issue of it.
Wahoo, took all of 4 post before this got to be a non Charlotte topic.
If the Pope would visit, it'd be the same as anytime any other political, religious or other figure came to speak. There would be supporters and protesters and everyone else would just have to deal with detours and traffic problems.

No its actually not a "little known fact." He's from Germany. He joined on his 14th birthday as it was required under German law to join at the age of 14. Its not like he proclaimed he was Hitler's right hand man.
Charlotte and North Carolina topics only. This thread left being local; Continue the discussion

All the best.
