Default Is Charlotte about to experience serious flooding?

Base on the latest forecast Wilmington NC might be next Katrina.

Tropical depression forms, eyes Florida, East Coast - Capital Weather Gang

Is Charlotte about to experience serious flooding? Or become an evacuation spot?

I would say Wilmington will be experiencing some serious flooding, but Charlotte? Very doubtful. The forecast for Charlotte is only showing light rain for Wednesday evening. The Tropical Storm (that is if it even turns into a Tropical Storm since right now its still a depression) isn't even supposed to hit North Carolina until Thursday, so I'm thinking once again we're not going to be getting any rain from that.

I'm going with no. There are some flood-prone areas of the city and I hope that this time people will get out of the area before any flooding. And next time, too. And the time afer that, and........

My aunt lives in Wilmington and she is thinking they will get much more than we do. I tend to agree.

My biggest concern would be trees.

I am here in Wilmington and monday we had more than 10 inches of rain, yesterday the rain held
off most of the day.
today started out with another couple of inches and the roads/yards
are a mess. expecting more later today and tonite.
flooding everywhere and while out driving on monday it
was like driving in a whiteout snowstorm except it was rain.

can't imagine anybody evacuating to Charlotte but who knows?

was just in Charlotte over the week-end and the ground was very parched so
hopefully you will get some rain without flooding.

Good weather coming; Partly Sunny by lunch. Good after those wrecks on 485 this morning. Why is there so many wrecks in Charlotte?

Because Charlotte is full of transplants that don't know how to drive.

Or Charlotte is full of people who THINK they can drive better than everyone else and a little rain is no reason to reduce speed.
